I have been advised - Before working as a security guard, my fingerprints must be taken and submitted to the Michigan State Police. I am at least 18 years of age: have not been under the sentence of a felony within the last five years, including parole, probation, or actual incarceration; have not been dishonorably discharged from military service; have not been adjudged insane unless restored to sanity by court order, and have at least an high school education or its equivalent. As a security guard I have in my possession a carrying concealed weapons permit, issued by the local county gun board, to carry or transport a firearm on public property. Being a security guard dose not allow me any privileges to carry or transport a firearm. A security guard may not carry a blackjack or sap, but may carry a night stick constructed solely of wood with the permission of the agency license holder. The minimum uniform for a security guard is two shoulder patches and a breast patch worn on the outer – most piece of clothing. A blazer with a highly identifiable breast patch may be worn on individual job assignments with the approval of the Michigan State Police. Patches and badges must be approved by the Michigan State Police and not be similar to that of a police department. Any guard wearing a badge not issued by the agency and approved by the Michigan State Police may be subject to criminal prosecution. I agree not to carry any agency badge when not engaged in the business of the agency. As a security guard I cannot work any security job independently of the licensed agency that hired me or wear a security guard uniform issued to me except while working on that agency’s business.
